About Me

Mack and I up the creek

Each morning, Mack and I walk down a few stairs (80 to be exact) to my covered dock which is nestled on a sheltered cove. I spend about an hour reading, reflecting, praying and journaling.  Sometimes I just sit and watch the sunrise over the water or admire the wildlife.  I am visited by beavers and muskrats.  Turtles and catfish I count as part of my congregation (more about that in one of my reflections).  Blue herons travel up and down the air space above the cove as if it were a designated flight path.  A noisy hawk or two circle above the water and occasionally dive for a fish.   A rare treat is when a local pair of bald eagles darken the sky with their immense wingspan.  In this environment, the psalms come alive and “the heavens proclaim the glory of God.”

Each morning, nature speaks to me a message of hope, encouragement, guidance, and inspiration. I’d like to share these with you, and maybe you’ll find a nugget or two to start your day.
